Erik Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Oxel having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Erik Branco fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rene Oxel, passed just outside the right post. Abel Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kaimo Äss blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cleiton Proença having to make a save. Rene Oxel made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Abel Soeiro sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Amarantina SS's goalkeeper Cleiton Proença, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 20th minute, Abel Soeiro made a precise shot to the right of Rene Oxel. Fortaleza's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Fortaleza's Jarbas Lira managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Paulo Proença in the 23 minute of the game. After some careless play in the Amarantina SS defense, Kaimo Äss kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cleiton Proença. The Amarantina SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cleiton Proença should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Abel Soeiro took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Rene Oxel to make any attempt to save it. Cleiton Proença came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Fortaleza's Kaimo Äss. But to his dismay, Kaimo Äss quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. In the 34th minute, Abel Soeiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rene Oxel was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. If Kaimo Äss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Cauan Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 40 minutes into the match, Kaimo Äss had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cleiton Proença. Amarantina SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kaimo Äss was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. A collision led to Fortaleza getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Cauan Paranaense hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Kaimo Äss managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fortaleza's supporters rose to their feet, but Kaimo Äss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cleiton Proença breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erik Branco charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erik Branco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th minute, Erik Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-3 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kaimo Äss made a kick off. Kaimo Äss struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Cleiton Proença didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fortaleza. The supporters of Fortaleza booed when Amarantina SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Natã Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaimo Äss sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But to his dismay, Kaimo Äss quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-4. After 76th play minutes Kaimo Äss shot 4-5, a short shot which went by Cleiton Proença and just under the crossbar into goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Kaimo Äss managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fortaleza's supporters rose to their feet, but Kaimo Äss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cleiton Proença breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A sloppy throw-in by Amauri Alvarenga in the 94th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Fortaleza's Cauan Paranaense. When the final whistle sounded Fortaleza left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Amarantina SS.
