An unexpected shot in the 32nd minute by Ronaldão Matos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. João Trancoso kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. If Ronaldão Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erasmo Prado might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Genílson Matorin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erasmo Prado ran back to his position shaking his head. 37 minutes into the game, Michel de Lara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1.
