In the 11th match minute, Iparanga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Renato de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Rodriguinho Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iparanga's Paulo Renato de Almeida pulled a muscle in his leg after 17 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Eugênio Guimarães's late challenge caught a Iparanga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eugênio Guimarães helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Iparanga booed when Filadelfia SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugênio Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodriguinho Marquez took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adrianinho Matorin. Adrianinho Matorin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Iparanga's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Cláudio Tasso scored to the left of an out of position Fernandinho Catarinense, making the score, 1-1. 31 minutes into the match, Filadelfia SC's Cláudio Tasso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fernandinho Catarinense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Iparanga's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rômulo Terra was slow to take the kick. During this time Filadelfia SC's players had a chance to rest. Filadelfia SC's Rômulo Terra was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fernandinho Catarinense in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 35 minutes of play, Filadelfia SC's Eugênio Guimarães made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernandinho Catarinense was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cláudio Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josué Baiano might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernandinho Catarinense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Josué Baiano ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 40thth minute of the game Cláudio Tasso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iparanga's Fernandinho Catarinense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Iparanga's Fernandinho Catarinense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Iparanga from getting a goal against them. Cláudio Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho Catarinense having to interfere. Filadelfia SC's Josué Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

In the 56th minute of the match, Rodriguinho Marquez tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Adrianinho Matorin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Fernandinho Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josué Baiano in the 57th minute of play. Filadelfia SC's Josué Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Olívio Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernandinho Catarinense came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Filadelfia SC's Cláudio Tasso. But to his dismay, Cláudio Tasso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Cláudio Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Filadelfia SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Tasso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernandinho Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 76 minutes into the game, Vânderson Carneiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Filadelfia SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iparanga the free kick. In the 76th minute, one of Filadelfia SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Filadelfia SC. Fernandinho Catarinense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Josué Baiano went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. Josué Baiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cláudio Tasso in the 89th minute of play forced Iparanga's goalkeeper Fernandinho Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernandinho Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josué Baiano in the 90th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute Cláudio Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandinho Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luciano Hermes hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Iparanga players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Filadelfia SC.
