In the 9th match minute, Itapinima AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willian Veiga to maneuver through the defense. Itapinima AD's André Luiz Favoretto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado do Vale in the 13th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Conrado do Vale dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of André Luiz Favoretto, 1-0. Ronaldão Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Conrado do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alemquer EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Conrado do Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Luiz Favoretto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 25 minutes of play Alemquer EC's Rodolfo de Amorim was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Rodolfo de Amorim hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Doni de Lara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Genílson Matorin. Alemquer EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Basílio Galvão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Anselmo Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Itapinima AD's Anselmo Paulista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Genílson Matorin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronaldão Matos made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Anselmo Paulista dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Genílson Matorin, 1-2. Basílio Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genílson Matorin having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Edinho Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Genílson Matorin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Paulista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldão Matos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ronaldão Matos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but André Luiz Favoretto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Ronaldão Matos scored 3-3 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of André Luiz Favoretto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Ronaldão Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 86 minutes, Anselmo Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapinima AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Paulista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
