Rodriguinho Marquez started the match with the kick off. After 4 minutes, Olívio Figueiredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iparanga and the Toheroa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Olívio Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Toheroa's Bernardinho Santana tried to score from far away in the 7th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Dráusio Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernandinho Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrício Munhoz in the 16th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Iparanga's zone, Alfredão Arantes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandinho Catarinense came out of the goal and Alfredão Arantes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rodriguinho Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alfredão Arantes came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Toheroa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredão Arantes couldn't finish the play. 31 minutes into the match, Iparanga's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredão Arantes came free, but Fernandinho Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th match minute, Iparanga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olívio Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. Fabrício Munhoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodriguinho Marquez in the 48th minute of play forced Toheroa's goalkeeper Gil Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The supporters of Iparanga booed when Toheroa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Adolfo Rossi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernandinho Catarinense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Rodriguinho Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Simões having to interfere. But to his dismay, Rodriguinho Marquez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Iparanga fans cheered their team off the field, for while Toheroa had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
