In the 14th minute, Dráusio Massa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dênis Paulista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Tarcisio Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafa Lopes during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ibipeba booed when Golbagoli Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafa Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráusio Massa in the 26th minute of play forced Golbagoli Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Acácio Simão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Golbagoli Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Dráusio Massa came free, but Acácio Simão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Dênis Paulista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Golbagoli Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ibipeba the free kick. After a rather tough play, Golbagoli Futebol Clube's Dênis Paulista got a free kick in the 34th minute. Benjamin Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Acácio Simão having to interfere. If Rubinho Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when João Paulo Souto made the kick off in the second half. Tarcisio Trancoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Paulo Souto in the 56th minute of the match. Doriva Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Rubinho Tepedino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tarcisio Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Paulo Souto in the 61st minute of play. Benjamin Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Acácio Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doriva Meireles struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Acácio Simão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibipeba. Benjamin Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Acácio Simão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamin Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Tarcisio Trancoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Paulo Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute Gildo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Acácio Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 played minutes Golbagoli Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Róbson Linares. Gildo Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Acácio Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benjamin Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. There was no doubt that Ibipeba were the better team. Ibipeba's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
