Spectators: 7217 (Terracing: 5414, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) Sassego's Clemente Torres started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Pegasus FC booed when Sassego was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilson Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anísio Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. When Pegasus FC's Anísio Neves in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sassego's goalie prevented a goal. 7 minutes into the match, Clemente Torres notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Pegasus FC's Guga Abreu. Guga Abreu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Clemente Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilson Paiva made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Fellipe Mota sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Pegasus FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Edmílson de Senna hit a great ball. Guga Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clemente Torres in the 24th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Anísio Neves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilson Paiva was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Pegasus FC's João Carlos Costa got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Fellipe Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Paiva having to interfere. Sassego's Wilson Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anísio Neves in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Manuel Miranda left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sassego fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anísio Neves to make the kick off. Clemente Torres's late challenge caught a Pegasus FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clemente Torres helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd match minute, Sassego was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Torres to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fellipe Mota in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 57th minute, Manuel Miranda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guga Abreu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The supporters of Sassego booed when Pegasus FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fellipe Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Sassego's goal looked a bit too open when Anísio Neves came free, but Wilson Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 79 minutes, Manuel Miranda made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Pegasus FC's Guga Abreu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Wilson Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Luisão Donatello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guga Abreu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clemente Torres's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Wilson Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fellipe Mota in the 94th minute of play. The Sassego supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sassego would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
