A collision led to Ibipeba getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Cafu Godoi hit a great ball. Benjamin Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Álvaro Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráusio Massa in the 11th minute of the match. Paulão Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarcisio Trancoso having to interfere. After 15 minutes, Gildo Martins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ibipeba and the Catarina F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Ibipeba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gildo Martins to maneuver through the defense. Dráusio Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Álvaro Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ademar Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Álvaro Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Mineiro in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd match minute, Catarina F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fellipe Peres to maneuver through the defense. Doriva Meireles struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Álvaro Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibipeba. In the 47th minute, Benjamin Mineiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benjamin Mineiro to make the kick off. Doriva Meireles might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Álvaro Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Doriva Meireles ran back to his position shaking his head. Ibipeba's Benjamin Mineiro got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 57 minutes into the match, Catarina F.C.'s Ademar Motta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tarcisio Trancoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The corner led Catarina F.C.'s Vivaldo Medeiros to fire away a dangerous shot which Tarcisio Trancoso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Benjamin Mineiro struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Álvaro Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibipeba. In the 65th minute of the match, Benjamin Mineiro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Álvaro Azevedo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Catarina F.C.'s Álvaro Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Catarina F.C. from getting a goal against them. Benjamin Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Dráusio Massa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Álvaro Azevedo. That made the score 0-1 in the 74 minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Ibipeba's Dráusio Massa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Álvaro Azevedo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ibipeba's zone, Ademar Motta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tarcisio Trancoso came out of the goal and Ademar Motta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ademar Motta took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tarcisio Trancoso. Tarcisio Trancoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Ibipeba were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Catarina F.C. to leave the ground with a draw.
