The goalkeeper, Acácio Simão, was totally fooled by Corinthians's Telmo Tinoco, who 31 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Teodoro Galvão took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Acácio Simão. Golbagoli Futebol Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tião Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Acácio Simão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corinthians. Acácio Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tião Guimarães in the 37th minute of play. Teodoro Galvão took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Acácio Simão. Golbagoli Futebol Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Diogo Baptista might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Acácio Simão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diogo Baptista ran back to his position shaking his head. Diogo Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Acácio Simão having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The audience was convinced that Diogo Baptista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Acácio Simão was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Acácio Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Tinoco in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Guimarães in the 60th minute of play forced Golbagoli Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Acácio Simão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Acácio Simão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Corinthians's Tião Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 74 minutes, Diogo Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tião Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Diogo Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Acácio Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
