The player immediately received a yellow card. Cacá Bertassi hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. If André Luiz Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doni de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the game, Haroldo de Alcântara recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Giovani de Azevedo. Haroldo de Alcântara showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beto Cordeiro in the 19th minute of play forced Ziriguidum Futebol Clubr's goalkeeper Zé Augusto Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 22 minutes, Doni de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corinthians's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doni de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Giovani de Azevedo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Doni de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Doni de Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Meira having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Ziriguidum Futebol Clubr's goal looked a bit too open when Tião Guimarães came free, but Zé Augusto Meira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute Beto Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto Meira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute of the match Teodoro Galvão shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Augusto Meira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Adriano Goiano hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Zé Augusto Meira stood somewhat misplaced when Beto Cordeiro came free in front of goal and shot 1-3 to the left of him in the 61 minute. Zé Augusto Meira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tião Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Tião Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Zé Augusto Meira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corinthians. After a defensive mix-up in Ziriguidum Futebol Clubr's zone, Tião Guimarães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Augusto Meira came out of the goal and Tião Guimarães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zé Augusto Meira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Beto Cordeiro's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. In the 90th minute, Percy de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the game, Adriano Goiano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Zé Augusto Meira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
