After 39 played minutes Guaraquicaba got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Teixeira. If Benjamin Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráusio Massa in the 45th minute of play forced Guaraquicaba's goalkeeper Marcelo Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
