Spectators: 7184 (Terracing: 5498, Seating: 1686, VIP seats: 0) Sassego's Clemente Torres started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Afonso da Cunha hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After 28 played minutes Quiririm got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Linares. Acácio Varela took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sérgio de Queiroz. Quiririm's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some careless play in the Quiririm defense, Clemente Torres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sérgio de Queiroz. The Quiririm fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sérgio de Queiroz should have stopped the shot. 3-1 became the score in the 36th minute when Rony Porto elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With 45 minutes on the clock, Rafa Soares commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

Quiririm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Brasil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Quiririm's Luís Fabiano Linares got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clemente Torres spun around in front of the goal 60 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Quiririm's goal. After 61 minutes, Rony Porto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quiririm and the Sassego players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Hugo Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
