In the 12th minute of the match, Matheus do Vale tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Giovani de Azevedo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some careless play in the Corinthians defense, Matheus do Vale kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giovani de Azevedo. The Corinthians fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giovani de Azevedo should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Caldeira FC booed when Corinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Caldeira FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Corinthians:s goal. In the 25th minute there was a penalty for Corinthians. Telmo Tinoco stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Amadeu Guerra. 1-1. Corinthians's Diogo Baptista got his second yellow card of the match in the 37th minute. The referee ordered Diogo Baptista off the ground. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Diogo Baptista hit a great ball. If David Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giovani de Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matheus do Vale went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. It was beautiful to see Caldeira FC's Anderson Gomes in action when he in the 45th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance!

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matheus do Vale made a kick off. In the 59th minute Doni de Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Telmo Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When David Sá fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caldeira FC's protests and gave David Sá a yellow card for diving instead. After 76 played minutes Caldeira FC got a freekick which was hit by David Sá. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Tião Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corinthians's supporters rose to their feet, but Tião Guimarães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeu Guerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Caldeira FC's Ian de Toledo got a free kick in the 79th minute. Tião Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Guerra having to interfere. Tião Guimarães blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeu Guerra having to make a save. The Caldeira FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
