After a rather tough play, Sassego's Afonso da Cunha got a free kick in the 8th minute. Wilson Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Toledo in the 10th minute of play. Jeremias Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mauro Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauro Toledo scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Paiva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zé Carlos Mangueira hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Sassego's Clemente Torres slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dráusio Donato. That made the score 1-1 after 32 minutes of play. Manuel Miranda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dráusio Donato having to make a save. With a little luck, Hanniballs F.C's Dráusio Donato got control of the ball when Manuel Miranda tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wilson Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Clemente Torres to make the kick off.
