Marcelo Meireles was a little too slow when Hugo Brasil got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 4th minute. The score was now 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Rony Porto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcelo Meireles. That made the score 2-0 in the 7 minute of play. In the 18th minute Rony Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Meireles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rony Porto in the 20th minute of play forced Guaraquicaba's goalkeeper Marcelo Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Quiririm's Rony Porto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelo Meireles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Guaraquicaba's zone, Rony Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Meireles came out of the goal and Rony Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Guaraquicaba getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Nilmar Dionísio hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandrinho Arantes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 59 minutes, Rony Porto made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Guaraquicaba's Marcelo Meireles tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Quiririm's Dudu Trevisan quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sidnei Fernandes, made in the 66th minute of the game. Rony Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcelo Meireles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurício Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 72 minutes, Rony Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quiririm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rony Porto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sandrinho Arantes got free with Sérgio de Queiroz in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 83rd minute, Sandrinho Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guaraquicaba's Marcelo Meireles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Brasil in the 88th minute of play. In the 91st minute Rony Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Meireles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maurício Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Marcelo Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Toninho Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fabiano Linares in the 94th minute of play forced Guaraquicaba's goalkeeper Marcelo Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Quiririm fully deserved thier win.
