In the 12th minute, Paulão Siqueira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Acácio Simão was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão Siqueira in the 33rd minute of play forced Golbagoli Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Acácio Simão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Golbagoli Futebol Clube's Dênis Paulista got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Paulo Souto to make the kick off. Dênis Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Azevedo having to interfere. After 56 played minutes Catarina F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Moreno. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Paulo Souto in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Álvaro Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Róbson Linares charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Róbson Linares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th minute, Róbson Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulão Siqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nuno Costa's late challenge caught a Golbagoli Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nuno Costa helped the player get up and apologised. Nuno Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Catarina F.C.'s Paulão Siqueira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Acácio Simão. That made the score 0-3 after 97 minutes of play. When the match was over Catarina F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Golbagoli Futebol Clube throughout the match.
