The score was now 1-0. 15 minutes into the match, U. S. Soccer's goalkeeper Benedito Neto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Paulo da Silva. U. S. Soccer's Elói Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raimundo Fontes kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 23rd match minute, U. S. Soccer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. U. S. Soccer's Benedito Neto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save U. S. Soccer from getting a goal against them. Danilo Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danilo Arantes might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benedito Neto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Danilo Arantes ran back to his position shaking his head. After 37 minutes of play, Stormbringers FC's Luís Paulo da Silva made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benedito Neto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Danilo Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Benedito Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U. S. Soccer's Benedito Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Arantes in the 45th minute of play. In the 48thth minute of the game César Freitas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stormbringers FC's Zé Augusto Azevedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Danilo Arantes to make the kick off. Antônio Carlos Tande received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Benedito Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Paulo da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Neto having to interfere. Benedito Neto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Danilo Arantes's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Danilo Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Paulo da Silva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benedito Neto having to make a save. Danilo Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Benedito Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, César Freitas took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Zé Augusto Azevedo to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Stormbringers FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Carlos Augusto Vergílio hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Stormbringers FC's zone, Evaristo Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Augusto Azevedo came out of the goal and Evaristo Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 81 minutes into the match, U. S. Soccer's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Paulo da Silva came free, but Benedito Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Paulo da Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedito Neto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Elói Castro hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. If Luís Paulo da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. César Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Azevedo having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Stormbringers FC had played much better football throughout.
