Esporte Clube Bahêa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Graxaim Esporte Clube the free kick. Váldson Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Inácio Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Váldson Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Abel Nascimento managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Esporte Clube Bahêa's Hílton Barros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 34 played minutes Esporte Clube Bahêa got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Lopes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Mineiro in the 38th minute of play forced Esporte Clube Bahêa's goalkeeper Inácio Vander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Graxaim Esporte Clube's Váldson Brito managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marcel Rezende in the 43 minute of the game. The supporters of Graxaim Esporte Clube booed when Esporte Clube Bahêa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Váldson Brito couldn't finish the play.
