The referee ignored União Autódromo's protests and gave Pedrão Garcia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute, Pedrão Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geraldo Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Guilherme Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Golden Lion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredão Mello to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Guilherme Guimarães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Golden Lion walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
