If Baltazar Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 6th minute, Váldson Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Baltazar Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Matheus Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Graxaim Esporte Clube's Rodrigo Vander got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Graxaim Esporte Clube's Abel Nascimento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Graxaim Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. Baltazar Mineiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matheus Zonta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. The supporters of Graxaim Esporte Clube booed when Minas Novas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Baltazar Mineiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Graxaim Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baltazar Mineiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sílvio Carneiro charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sílvio Carneiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Minas Novas FC! After a rather tough play, Minas Novas FC's Sílvio Carneiro got a free kick in the 35th minute. When Baltazar Mineiro came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Graxaim Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baltazar Mineiro couldn't finish the play. In the 38th match minute, Graxaim Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulinho Mello to maneuver through the defense. If Baltazar Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Vitório Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot. Minas Novas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vitório Lago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Nascimento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th match minute, Minas Novas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eurico Veloso to maneuver through the defense. Baltazar Mineiro took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Matheus Zonta. Matheus Zonta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After the first half Graxaim Esporte Clube were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baltazar Mineiro was the one to do the kick off. Matheus Zonta came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Graxaim Esporte Clube's Baltazar Mineiro. But to his dismay, Baltazar Mineiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 58th minute, Graxaim Esporte Clube's Váldson Brito dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Baltazar Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matheus Zonta having to interfere. 64 minutes into the game, Graxaim Esporte Clube's Baltazar Mineiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matheus Zonta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Baltazar Mineiros short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Matheus Zonta to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Samuca Fantini's late challenge caught a Minas Novas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuca Fantini helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Graxaim Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Samuca Fantini hit a great ball. Eurico Veloso got his second yellow card in the match during the 73rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 74th match minute, Minas Novas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eurico Veloso to maneuver through the defense. Matheus Zonta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baltazar Mineiro in the 76th minute. After 77 minutes, Vitório Lago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Minas Novas FC and the Graxaim Esporte Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Minas Novas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitório Lago to maneuver through the defense. Baltazar Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aílton Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute Ruy Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Minas Novas FC's Aílton Coelho got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 92 minutes of play, Minas Novas FC's Vitório Lago made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abel Nascimento was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Minas Novas FC's Matheus Zonta got control of the ball when Váldson Brito tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Minas Novas FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Graxaim Esporte Clube were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
