Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Geraldo Vaz took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Gequi's Michel Dante got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Golden Lion's Enéas Lira tried to score from far away in the 4th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Valdo Cearense fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gequi's protests and gave Valdo Cearense a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Golden Lion booed when Gequi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdo Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Golden Lion's goalkeeper Cauã Damião had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guilherme Medeiros. Guilherme Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cauã Damião having to interfere. Alfredão Mello kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 20th minute Paulinho Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josué Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Gequi's goal looked a bit too open when Geraldo Vaz came free, but Josué Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulinho Pinho during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Golden Lion getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Paulinho Pinho hit a great ball. 26 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Gequi's Guilherme Medeiros fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Eurico Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eurico Sampaio during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 35 played minutes Golden Lion got a freekick which was hit by Eurico Sampaio. Célio Velloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geraldo Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Marquez having to interfere. If Paulinho Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Célio Velloso was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Célio Velloso notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Golden Lion's Cauã Damião. Cauã Damião was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Célio Velloso struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Cauã Damião didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gequi. Guilherme Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Cauã Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geraldo Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Marquez having to interfere. Cauã Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Medeiros in the 62nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulinho Pinho in the 67th minute of play forced Gequi's goalkeeper Josué Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guilherme Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Cauã Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guilherme Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Golden Lion's Paulinho Pinho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Josué Marquez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Josué Marquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo Vaz in the 82nd minute of play. Josué Marquez made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Paulinho Pinho sent off a good shot on target. Silvério Valadares charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvério Valadares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 87 played minutes Golden Lion got a freekick which was hit by Silvério Valadares. Cauã Damião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Dante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Golden Lion players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gequi.
