Aracruz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cheetara FC the free kick. In the 39th match minute, Aracruz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Gabriel Passos to maneuver through the defense. Nicolas Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilvan Dracena having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Agostinho Mota to make the kick off. Tiago Gabriel Passos was shown his second yellow card after 84 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Tiago Gabriel Passos hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The supporters of Cheetara FC booed when Aracruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agostinho Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute, Horácio Nascimento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cheetara FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Cheetara FC's zone, Nicolas Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilvan Dracena came out of the goal and Nicolas Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Despite being the better team, Aracruz failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
