An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Michel Netto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Varejeiras do Asfalto FC's Michel Netto was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 11th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Christiano Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simão Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Mangueira having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Varejeiras do Asfalto FC's goal looked a bit too open when Simão Donato came free, but Nilmar Mangueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franklin de Queirós hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, Michel Netto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Horácio Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Nilmar Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romeu Félix's late challenge caught a Cheetara FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romeu Félix helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Varejeiras do Asfalto FC's Romeu Félix got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After 44 minutes of play, Cheetara FC's Simão Donato made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nilmar Mangueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Simão Donato was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Varejeiras do Asfalto FC's goalkeeper Nilmar Mangueira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Didi de Godoi. Gilvan Dracena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michel Netto in the 54th minute of play. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nilmar Mangueira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After having played for 72 minutes, Christiano Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varejeiras do Asfalto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christiano Ceresso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Simão Donato came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Cheetara FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simão Donato couldn't finish the play. Horácio Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Mangueira having to interfere. Nilmar Mangueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Donato in the 85th minute of play. Gilvan Dracena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michel Netto went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Christiano Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varejeiras do Asfalto FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Christiano Ceresso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilvan Dracena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew the final whistle, Varejeiras do Asfalto FC could leave the field as winners, despite Cheetara FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
