With his leg Emerson Secco managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Flamengo's Dudu dos Santos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Oséias Carioca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yuri Souto in the 10th minute of the match. Dudu dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dudu dos Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emerson Secco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dudu dos Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. Dudu dos Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Emerson Secco made a huge save. In the 52nd minute, Dudu dos Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hélder Batista took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emerson Secco. Emerson Secco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Dagoberto Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Emerson Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the game, Flamengo's Dudu dos Santos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emerson Secco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. Emerson Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Prado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Nicolau's Thiago Simão got a free kick in the 76th minute. Hélder Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Emerson Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Flamengo's Dagoberto Lopes in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nicolau's goalie prevented a goal. 91 minutes into the match, Hélder Batista notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Nicolau's Emerson Secco. Emerson Secco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Flamengo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
