Iuri Cruz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferraz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Iuri Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferraz having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iuri Cruz made a kick off. Diogo Arruda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iuri Cruz in the 67th minute of play forced Montes Claros F.C's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of Lascadinha FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Montes Claros F.C:s goal. The referee gave Montes Claros F.C a penalty, 74 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eduardo Loureiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lascadinha FC's Abel Domingues. 1-4. With a little luck, Montes Claros F.C's Jonathan Ferraz got control of the ball when Didi Ramos tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Lascadinha FC booed when Montes Claros F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gildo Netto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Didi Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Jonathan Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diogo Arruda might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abel Domingues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Lascadinha FC's Mário Custódio got a free kick in the 94th minute. Diogo Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. Didi Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 101st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferraz having to interfere. The Montes Claros F.C supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Lascadinha FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Lascadinha FC.
