The crowd rose to their feet as Michel Netto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Emerson Secco. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. In the 10th minute, Christiano Ceresso fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Emerson Secco, passed just outside the right post. Michel Netto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Emerson Secco made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Claudinei Capixaba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nilmar Mangueira was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Nilmar Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuri Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabrício Galvão hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Netto got free with Emerson Secco in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Maurinho Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Yuri Souto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Nicolau's Claudinei Capixaba in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Varejeiras do Asfalto FC's goalie prevented a goal. Michel Netto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicolau's Emerson Secco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Nicolau from getting a goal against them. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Yuri Souto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Yuri Souto struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Nilmar Mangueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nicolau. In the 54th minute Michel Netto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Secco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudinei Capixaba during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 66 minutes into the match, Varejeiras do Asfalto FC's goalkeeper Nilmar Mangueira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudinei Capixaba. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christiano Ceresso in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emerson Secco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 70 played minutes Nicolau got a freekick which was hit by Thiago Simão. Nilmar Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuri Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Yuri Souto was extremely unlucky when he, in the 76th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Claudinei Capixabas short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Nilmar Mangueira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Franklin de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Secco having to interfere. After having played for 85 minutes, Michel Netto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varejeiras do Asfalto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michel Netto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Christiano Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Varejeiras do Asfalto FC had won after a very even match.
