Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcus Simão in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valério Bueno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santos's goalkeeper Valério Bueno, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rodrigo Melo succeeded in the game's 11th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benjamin Peres got free with Wellington do Nascimento in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 15th match minute, Jacurutu AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inácio Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. Rodrigo Melo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Jacurutu AD booed when Santos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murillo Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inácio Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Valério Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valério Bueno came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Jacurutu AD's Rodrigo Melo. But to his dismay, Rodrigo Melo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Vito Secco fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jacurutu AD's protests and gave Vito Secco a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 played minutes Jacurutu AD got a freekick which was hit by Vito Secco. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benjamin Peres got free with Wellington do Nascimento in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Inácio Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Santos defense, Marcus Simão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valério Bueno. The Santos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valério Bueno should have stopped the shot. Maurício Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 44th minute Marcus Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valério Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marcus Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Jacurutu AD were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience was convinced that Marcus Simão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valério Bueno was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. In the 57th minute, Nicolas Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Simão in the 64th minute of play forced Santos's goalkeeper Valério Bueno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wellington do Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabinho Paraíba, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After 71 played minutes, Jacurutu AD's Chicão Azevedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valério Bueno came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jacurutu AD reached it. Marcus Simãos short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Valério Bueno to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 77th minute, Inácio Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Fernando Lara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wellington do Nascimento. Jacurutu AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 80th minute Benjamin Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wellington do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marcus Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vito Secco hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match.
