Juninho Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vânderson de Queirós in the 10th minute of the match. After 11 played minutes Juiz de Fora Team got a freekick which was hit by Jano da Silva. Joffily EC's Murillo Barreto couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 12th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Juiz de Fora Team. Evaristo de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Pinheiro having to interfere. Juninho Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diamantino Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Kléberson Siqueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Joffily EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Teles in the 22nd minute of play forced Juiz de Fora Team's goalkeeper Juninho Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evaristo de Alcântara had several of the Joffily EC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 35 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Leonardo Pinheiro as he didn't even see the shot coming. Evaristo de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joffily EC's Leonardo Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jano da Silva in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Joffily EC's zone, Evaristo de Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonardo Pinheiro came out of the goal and Evaristo de Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Evaristo de Alcântara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Claudinho Vander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Juninho Maranhense made a huge save. Juiz de Fora Team's Juninho Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Teles in the 57th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Diamantino Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 65 played minutes Joffily EC got a freekick which was hit by Fernandinho Moura. Evaristo de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Joffily EC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Juiz de Fora Team.
