Spectators: 6661 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 0) Santos's Fabinho Paraíba started the match with a crisp pass. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Valério Bueno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amílton Freitas in the 22nd minute. Amílton Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Santos's Valério Bueno got control of the ball when Amílton Freitas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Amílton Freitas took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valério Bueno. Valério Bueno dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Amílton Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério Bueno having to interfere. Evandro da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Amílton Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute, Benjamin Peres made a precise shot to the right of Augusto de Medeiros. Boca do Mato FR's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The Boca do Mato FR players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Santos were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Evandro da Costa made the kick off in the second half. When Osvaldo Gaspar fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boca do Mato FR's protests and gave Osvaldo Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. Osvaldo Gaspar hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Augusto de Medeiros acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 53rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Luís Fernando Lara. Benjamin Peres got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 1-3 in the right cross in the 61st match minute before Augusto de Medeiros had time to react. When Benjamin Peres came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Santos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Peres couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabinho Paraíba in the 68th minute of play forced Boca do Mato FR's goalkeeper Augusto de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evandro da Costa scored 2-3 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valério Bueno, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabinho Paraíba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. After a rather tough play, Santos's Luís Fernando Lara got a free kick in the 81st minute. Amílton Freitas struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Valério Bueno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca do Mato FR. Benjamin Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto de Medeiros having to interfere. If Evandro da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santos's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
