Jacurutu AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Juiz de Fora Team the free kick. After 23 played minutes Jacurutu AD got a freekick which was hit by Inácio Ceresso. The long shot by Jano da Silva in the 24th minute really tested Wellington do Nascimento's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 32 minutes into the match, Juiz de Fora Team's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Simão came free, but Juninho Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodrigo Melo made a kick off.
