Teotoboys Futebol Clube's Geraldo Cerezo got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 35 minutes into the match, Teotoboys Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Arantes came free, but Pedrinho Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Kaká Paranaense was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 44 minutes had been played. Geraldo Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Felippe Peres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cafu Amorim was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Álvaro de Lima was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VASCO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Teotoboys Futebol Clube the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cafu Amorim in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felippe Peres saved VASCO from getting behind. 54 minutes into the game, Bruninho Vidal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Teotoboys Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VASCO the free kick. After 54 played minutes Teotoboys Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho Vidal. Geovanni Rosa charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geovanni Rosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 63 minutes into the match, VASCO's goal looked a bit too open when Geraldo Cerezo came free, but Felippe Peres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geraldo Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe Peres having to interfere. Felippe Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Geraldo Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michel Arantes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedrinho Pereira having to make a save. The supporters of VASCO booed when Teotoboys Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, VASCO's Luís Gustavo Souza tried to score from far away in the 83rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Felippe Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geraldo Cerezo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in VASCO's zone, Geraldo Cerezo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felippe Peres came out of the goal and Geraldo Cerezo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
