When Pegasus FC's Marcinho de Queirós in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Luziania SC's goalie prevented a goal. Evandro Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Edu Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evandro Tinoco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edu Leite read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of Pegasus FC booed when Luziania SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enéas Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rubinho Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Edu Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Otávio Silveira during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pegasus FC's goalkeeper João Adolfo Ramos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Evandro Tinoco might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edu Leite. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evandro Tinoco ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlos Godoi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but João Adolfo Ramos made a huge save. Edu Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubinho Vargas in the 37th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubinho Vargas in the 43rd minute of play forced Luziania SC's goalkeeper Edu Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomé Madureira was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pegasus FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Roger Alagoano was slow to take the kick. During this time Luziania SC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Luziania SC's corner Roger Alagoano fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and João Adolfo Ramos quite easily take care of the ball. Remo Falcão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Evandro Tinoco took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edu Leite. Edu Leite dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 61st minute, Rubinho Vargas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valdo Viana hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the match, Luziania SC's goalkeeper Edu Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evandro Tinoco. Luziania SC's Edu Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubinho Vargas in the 72nd minute of play. In the 76th minute of the match, Rubinho Vargas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edu Leite saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rubinho Vargas struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Edu Leite didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pegasus FC. Pegasus FC's Evandro Tinoco got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Luziania SC's zone, Rubinho Vargas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edu Leite came out of the goal and Rubinho Vargas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice moves Evandro Tinoco could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Edu Leite however easily saved by the left post.
