Pegasus FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Evandro Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. Rubinho Vargas got in the 9th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Rafinha Diniz handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Evandro Tinoco made a precise shot to the right of Rafinha Diniz. Varzeado's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubinho Vargas in the 15th minute of play forced Varzeado's goalkeeper Rafinha Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 played minutes Pegasus FC got a freekick which was hit by Remo Falcão. When Ademir Reis fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varzeado's protests and gave Ademir Reis a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Varzeado fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Pegasus FC a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Murilo Novaes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Varzeado's Rafinha Diniz. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho de Alcântara in the 25th minute of play forced Pegasus FC's goalkeeper João Adolfo Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Varzeado's Hermínio Botelho got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Pegasus FC's Marcinho de Queirós got a free kick in the 30th minute. Pegasus FC's João Adolfo Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcinho de Alcântara in the 31st minute of play. When Pegasus FC's Rubinho Vargas in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Varzeado's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rubinho Vargas in the 36th managed to get into a good position. In the 38th minute Rubinho Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafinha Diniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, one of Varzeado:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Varzeado. The referee gave Pegasus FC a penalty, 43 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Murilo Novaes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Varzeado's Rafinha Diniz. 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcinho de Alcântara was the one to do the kick off. Evandro Tinoco struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Rafinha Diniz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pegasus FC. Maicon Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 64 minutes, Didi Donato mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varzeado and the Pegasus FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 64th minute, Didi Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rubinho Vargas in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafinha Diniz saved Varzeado from getting behind. The referee ignored Varzeado's protests and gave Leonel Meireles a yellow card for diving instead. After 70 played minutes Pegasus FC got a freekick which was hit by Murilo Novaes. With a little luck, Varzeado's Rafinha Diniz got control of the ball when Evandro Tinoco tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Varzeado's zone, Evandro Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafinha Diniz came out of the goal and Evandro Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 80 minutes into the game, Pegasus FC's Evandro Tinoco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafinha Diniz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Evandro Tinoco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Rafinha Diniz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 84th match minute, Varzeado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artur Penha to maneuver through the defense. 86 minutes in the game, Rubinho Vargas fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rafinha Diniz having to interfere. Rubinho Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafinha Diniz having to interfere. The Varzeado fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Pegasus FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
