In the 22nd minute Haroldo de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ademar Carneiro in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Soares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Ademar Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deivid Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Maia having to interfere. A collision led to Quincos SC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Kauan de Amaral hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Quincos SC's zone, Luiz Guilherme Toscano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cícero Maia came out of the goal and Luiz Guilherme Toscano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ademar Carneiro's late challenge caught a Umbilino SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ademar Carneiro helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Umbilino SS booed when Quincos SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademar Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute of the match Luiz Paulo Souza sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cícero Maia skillfully saved the ball. Luiz Guilherme Toscano might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cícero Maia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Guilherme Toscano ran back to his position shaking his head. 42 minutes into the game, Umbilino SS's Deivid Vaz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cícero Maia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Haroldo de Godoi made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Ademar Carneiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Soares was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. After 57 minutes of play, Quincos SC's Ademar Carneiro made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Soares was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Umbilino SS booed when Quincos SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute Luiz Guilherme Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cícero Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cícero Maia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Umbilino SS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Umbilino SS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
