An unexpectedly hard shot by Deivid Vaz in the 18th minute of play forced Pegasus FC's goalkeeper João Adolfo Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Umbilino SS's Jonathan Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubinho Vargas in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute Rubinho Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pegasus FC's Evandro Tinoco got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Pegasus FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Murilo Novaes hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rubinho Vargas to make the kick off. Josué Cardoso got his second yellow card in the match during the 56th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Pegasus FC booed when Umbilino SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josué Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 58 minutes of play, Pegasus FC's Rubinho Vargas made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Soares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Remo Falcão charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Remo Falcão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Evandro Tinoco put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Soares. Jonathan Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubinho Vargas in the 72nd minute of play. If Rubinho Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Rubinho Vargas came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Pegasus FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubinho Vargas couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubinho Vargas in the 89th minute of the match. Jonathan Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubinho Vargas in the 93rd minute of play. Jonathan Soares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evandro Tinoco, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When the referee ended the match the Pegasus FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
