Remo Falcão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Sidnei Vale made a huge save. In the 19th minute of the match Natanael Souza shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Adolfo Ramos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcinho de Queirós during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marcinho de Queirós hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Maicon Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. The supporters of Pegasus FC booed when Governador Sarney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geraldo Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Pegasus FC's Murilo Novaes tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 33rd minute of the match, Evandro Tinoco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sidnei Vale was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Valdir das Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Pegasus FC's zone, Valdir das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Adolfo Ramos came out of the goal and Valdir das Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Valdir das Neves put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of João Adolfo Ramos.
