Kauan de Amaral's late challenge caught a AS Novelli's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kauan de Amaral helped the player get up and apologised. If Marcelinho Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Capixaba couldn't finish the play. Mateus Melo charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mateus Melo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st minute Haroldo de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Umberto Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabriel Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Maia having to interfere. After having played for 70 minutes, Gabriel Capixaba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS Novelli's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Capixaba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. AS Novelli's Umberto Velloso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save AS Novelli from getting a goal against them.
