Evandro Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Velloso having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Evandro Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pegasus FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Evandro Tinoco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Umberto Velloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Pegasus FC's João Adolfo Ramos got control of the ball when Marcelinho Tepedino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Umberto Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evandro Tinoco in the 14th minute of the match. Rubinho Vargas's late challenge caught a AS Novelli's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rubinho Vargas helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Pegasus FC's Rubinho Vargas got a free kick in the 15th minute. Evandro Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evandro Tinoco in the 19th minute of play forced AS Novelli's goalkeeper Umberto Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rubinho Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee ignored Pegasus FC's protests and gave Marcinho de Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. Marcinho de Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Rubinho Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Velloso having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Evandro Tinoco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rubinho Vargas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabriel Capixaba made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Rubinho Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Umberto Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, AS Novelli's Umberto Velloso got control of the ball when Evandro Tinoco tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of AS Novelli booed when Pegasus FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubinho Vargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Evandro Tinoco came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Pegasus FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evandro Tinoco couldn't finish the play. Umberto Velloso made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Evandro Tinoco sent off a good shot on target. Umberto Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remo Falcão in the 65th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Pegasus FC's Evandro Tinoco got a free kick in the 70th minute. Nildo Almeida's late challenge caught a Pegasus FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nildo Almeida helped the player get up and apologised. It was a brilliant solo performance by Pegasus FC's Murilo Novaes when he shot the ball into the net to 0-1 in the 74th minute. Remo Falcão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Velloso having to interfere. AS Novelli's Gabriel Capixaba got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 81 minutes, Ediberto Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pegasus FC and the AS Novelli players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Pegasus FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Ediberto Reis hit a great ball. Pegasus FC's Marcinho de Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. AS Novelli's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Evandro Tinoco scored to the left of an out of position Umberto Velloso, making the score, 0-2. Umberto Velloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Evandro Tinoco in the 91st minute. Evandro Tinoco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Umberto Velloso made a huge save. Evandro Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Velloso having to interfere. When the match was over Pegasus FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AS Novelli throughout the match.
