Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Manfredo Valladares took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ademar Leme in the 3rd minute of play forced Itumirim's goalkeeper Elias Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Duarte da Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itumirim's supporters rose to their feet, but Duarte da Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardinho Paraense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 8 minutes into the game, Bruno Ribeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capalazia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itumirim the free kick. Dito Pontes hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Duarte da Silva struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Bernardinho Paraense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itumirim. After a defensive mix-up in Capalazia's zone, Manfredo Valladares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardinho Paraense came out of the goal and Manfredo Valladares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th minute Ademar Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Capalazia's Bernardinho Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfredo Valladares in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Itumirim's Abelardo Leal got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Manfredo Valladares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho Paraense having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Capalazia's goal looked a bit too open when Manfredo Valladares came free, but Bernardinho Paraense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Itumirim's Elias Gonçalves got control of the ball when Edu Pombal tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Itumirim defense, Edu Pombal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elias Gonçalves. The Itumirim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elias Gonçalves should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Ademar Leme made the kick off in the second half. Dito Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After 55 played minutes Itumirim got a freekick which was hit by Marcinho Leal. If Manfredo Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 62nd minute of the game. One of Capalazia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Itumirim:s goal. The referee gave Itumirim a penalty, 63 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Duarte da Silva, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Capalazia's Bernardinho Paraense. 1-1. Manfredo Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Bernardinho Paraense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Ribeiro got his second yellow card in the match during the 71st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Capalazia getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Bruno Ribeiro hit a great ball. Duarte da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edu Pombal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edinho Furlan charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edinho Furlan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Itumirim booed when Capalazia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edinho Furlan didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Duarte da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho Paraense having to interfere. Bernardinho Paraense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abelardo Leal in the 92nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Duarte da Silva got free with Bernardinho Paraense in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Itumirim players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
