In the 16th minute Ulisses Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laércio Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipe de Brito struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Aírton Simão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mattosinhos FC. Alberto Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Simão having to interfere. The wind increased when Felipe de Brito made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 61 minutes, Percy Valadares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olimpo Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percy Valadares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alberto Paraense charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Paraense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Olimpo Football Club booed when Mattosinhos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alberto Paraense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Aírton Simão made a huge save. With a little luck, Olimpo Football Club's Aírton Simão got control of the ball when Alberto Paraense tried to sneak it across the goal line.
