After a rather tough play, Olimpo Football Club's Almir de Carvalho got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 8 minutes into the game, Olimpo Football Club's Vito Amorim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flávio Vaz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 10th minute, Percy Valadares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flávio Vaz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Quintal in the 14th minute of play forced Olimpo Football Club's goalkeeper Aírton Simão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Fábio Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Simão having to interfere. After 25 minutes, José Carlos Alcântara made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Olimpo Football Club's Aírton Simão tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 28 minutes into the match, Fenerbatman's goal looked a bit too open when Almir de Carvalho came free, but Flávio Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucas Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Simão having to interfere. If Ulisses Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Flávio Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percy Valadares in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Luiz Fábio Quintal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th minute of the match, José Carlos Alcântara tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aírton Simão saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Olimpo Football Club's zone, Lucas Aguiar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aírton Simão came out of the goal and Lucas Aguiar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Carlos Alcântara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Flávio Vaz was out of position in the 52 minute of play, and Ulisses Nunes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ulisses Nunes really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. After 55 played minutes Olimpo Football Club got a freekick which was hit by José Pedro Alvarenga. In the 57th minute, José Pedro Alvarenga fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 58th minute, Olimpo Football Club's José Pedro Alvarenga dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. 63 minutes into the match, Fenerbatman's goal looked a bit too open when Ulisses Nunes came free, but Flávio Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Adilson Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aírton Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilvan da Silva charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilvan da Silva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Carlos Alcântara in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aírton Simão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Olimpo Football Club getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. José Pedro Alvarenga hit a great ball. Lucas Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucas Aguiar in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aírton Simão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rony Perez kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Flávio Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses Nunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flávio Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulisses Nunes in the 94th minute of play. Flávio Vaz made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Percy Valadares sent off a good shot on target. The Olimpo Football Club supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Olimpo Football Club would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
