The crowd rose to their feet as Cafu Cavalcante kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Luís Valle. That made the score 1-1 in the 14 minute of play. Treze Futebol Clube's Adelino Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marquinhos Duarte in the 17th minute of play. After having played for 19 minutes, Franklin Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.E. Los Bigodes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franklin Diniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. György Cseh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adelino Ortiz having to interfere. S.E. Los Bigodes's Benjamin Toscano got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Treze Futebol Clube's Adelino Ortiz got control of the ball when Benjamin Toscano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marquinhos Duarte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adelino Ortiz made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Marquinhos Duarte sent off a good shot on target. With his leg Adelino Ortiz managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when S.E. Los Bigodes's Marquinhos Duarte fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 69th minute of the match, Marquinhos Duarte got a very nice opportunity to score, but Adelino Ortiz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that György Cseh couldn't finish the play. After having played for 79 minutes, Marquinhos Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.E.
