The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Waldir Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Drycer's supporters rose to their feet, but Waldir Faria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aírton Simão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulisses Nunes in the 13th minute of play forced Drycer's goalkeeper Breno Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Percy Valadares could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Breno Seco however easily saved by the left post. 22 minutes into the match, Drycer's goal looked a bit too open when Ulisses Nunes came free, but Breno Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Olimpo Football Club's Ulisses Nunes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Breno Seco. That made the score 2-0 after 26 minutes of play. Waldir Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Drycer's Natanael Peres got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Percy Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breno Seco having to interfere. In the 48th minute Ulisses Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Breno Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 48th minute, Ulisses Nunes made a precise shot to the right of Breno Seco. Drycer's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfredo Falcão was the one to do the kick off. If Ulisses Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute, Alfredo Falcão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 81st minute Ulisses Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Breno Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Olimpo Football Club's goalkeeper Aírton Simão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Waldir Faria. 86 minutes into the match, Olimpo Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Waldir Faria came free, but Aírton Simão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
