After 4 played minutes, S.E. Paixão Verde's Caetano Bastos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aírton Simão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in S.E. Paixão Verde reached it. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Olimpo Football Club's goalkeeper Aírton Simão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Percy Valadares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Ernesto Eger made a huge save. S.E. Paixão Verde's Ernesto Eger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save S.E. Paixão Verde from getting a goal against them. José Pedro Alvarenga kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Jorge Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Simão having to interfere. José Pedro Alvarenga charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Pedro Alvarenga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Olimpo Football Club's José Pedro Alvarenga got a free kick in the 27th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Olimpo Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Fernandez came free, but Aírton Simão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 34 minutes, Ulisses Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olimpo Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulisses Nunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paixão Verde's zone, Ulisses Nunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto Eger came out of the goal and Ulisses Nunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 40th match minute, S.E. Paixão Verde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute of the match Olimpo Football Club got a corner. S.E. Paixão Verde's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vinícius Perez ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Júlio Penha heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Ernesto Eger came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Olimpo Football Club's Ulisses Nunes. But to his dismay, Ulisses Nunes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 57th minute, Alan Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute, Vinícius Perez sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and S.E. Paixão Verde's Ernesto Eger didn't even have to move. Aírton Simão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Toscano in the 62nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Olimpo Football Club's José Pedro Alvarenga got a free kick in the 65th minute. With a little luck, Olimpo Football Club's Aírton Simão got control of the ball when Jorge Toscano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jorge Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 71st match minute, Olimpo Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vito Amorim to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Wiliam Macedo in the 72nd minute really tested Aírton Simão's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 74th minute, Vito Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Carlos Koehler who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Aírton Simão when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jorge Toscano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aírton Simão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. In the 84th minute of the match Vinícius Perez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ernesto Eger showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Ademar Urbano fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.E. Paixão Verde's protests and gave Ademar Urbano a yellow card for diving instead. Ademar Urbano hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match.
