Clemente Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacinto Barral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Pseudeos's attack was well implemented in the 39th minute, but when Clemente Azevedo was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. If Rogério Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sérgio Netto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ciro Vieira having to make a save. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sérgio Netto made a kick off. Sérgio Netto did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Ciro Vieira 55 minutes into the match.
