An unexpectedly hard shot by Dito Couto in the 9th minute of play forced Figueiredo FC's goalkeeper Emanuel Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Christiano Leite was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Figueiredo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Baixio SC the free kick. The supporters of Baixio SC booed when Figueiredo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christiano Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Figueiredo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dito Couto came free, but Emanuel Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Figueiredo FC's zone, Renato Pinheiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Gaúcho came out of the goal and Renato Pinheiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dito Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emanuel Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dito Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Pedro Torres hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. If Décio de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Figueiredo FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. José Maria Favoretto hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Renato Pinheiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emanuel Gaúcho was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Emanuel Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dito Couto in the 36th minute of the match. Emanuel Gaúcho was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jâninho Potiguar. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Zé Pedro Torres sped through Figueiredo FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Emanuel Gaúcho. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dito Couto to make the kick off. Duarte Cardozo charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Emanuel Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dito Couto in the 67th minute of the match. Emanuel Gaúcho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dito Couto, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 97th minute Dito Couto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baixio SC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
