Spectators: 6404 (Terracing: 5404, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Luisão Motta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dedé da Silveira went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 10th minute, Erivaldo Secco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luisão Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexsandro Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, San miguel's goal looked a bit too open when Dedé da Silveira came free, but Luisão Motta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sidney Tróia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luisão Motta having to make a save. Agnaldo Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Augusto Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, San miguel's Waldemar de Godoi got a free kick in the 21st minute. Cláudio Lucas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 22nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Augusto Berger during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 25th minute, Zé Augusto Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Zé Augusto Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorival Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Agnaldo Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Macaiba AF got a freekick which was hit by Sidney Tróia. In the 45th minute, Alexsandro Fernandes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Macaiba AF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After the first half Macaiba AF were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexsandro Fernandes was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, San miguel's Dorival Arce got a free kick in the 53rd minute. When Mário Paraense fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San miguel's protests and gave Mário Paraense a yellow card for diving instead. Mário Paraense hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After 56 played minutes, Macaiba AF's Cláudio Lucas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luisão Motta came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Macaiba AF reached it. Luisão Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexsandro Fernandes in the 58th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, San miguel's goalkeeper Luisão Motta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sidney Tróia. Luisão Motta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidney Tróia in the 62nd minute. Zé Augusto Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mário Paraense might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Agnaldo Bezerra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mário Paraense ran back to his position shaking his head. San miguel's Dorival Arce got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Macaiba AF's zone, Zé Augusto Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agnaldo Bezerra came out of the goal and Zé Augusto Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dorival Arce struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Agnaldo Bezerra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San miguel. 73 minutes into the game, Zé Augusto Berger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Agnaldo Bezerra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zé Augusto Berger scored 2-2 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Agnaldo Bezerra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, San miguel's Diogo Severo got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After 85 played minutes San miguel got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Carioca. Luisão Motta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidney Tróia in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Augusto Berger in the 87th minute of play forced Macaiba AF's goalkeeper Agnaldo Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Mário Paraense managed to get in a good position for a shot. San miguel's supporters rose to their feet, but Mário Paraense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Agnaldo Bezerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Agnaldo Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Augusto Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luisão Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexsandro Fernandes in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Alexsandro Fernandes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luisão Motta was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Macaiba AF's Cláudio Lucas shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 97th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Luisão Motta but with some difficulty. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Macaiba AF had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
