Macaiba AF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Reação São Paulina the free kick. In the 20th match minute, Macaiba AF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidney Tróia to maneuver through the defense. Reação São Paulina's Luiz Fernando Ceresso quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Fabrício Travassos, made in the 23rd minute of the game. Adelino Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidney Tróia in the 87th minute of the match. Adelino Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Tróia in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th minute Sidney Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adelino Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Macaiba AF walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
