Luisão Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The supporters of VSKG Clube booed when San miguel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luisão Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Botelho in the 25th minute of the match. Jean Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mário Paraense was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. San miguel's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. San miguel's Zé Augusto Berger got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Zé Augusto Berger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodolfo Godoi. VSKG Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Augusto Berger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Augusto Berger in the 46th minute of play forced VSKG Clube's goalkeeper Rodolfo Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 58th minute Simão Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Zé Augusto Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 63 minutes, Jean Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VSKG Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as VSKG Clube's Jean Botelho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luisão Motta. That made the score 1-2 after 67 minutes of play. San miguel's Túlio Lopes got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Augusto Berger in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodolfo Godoi saved VSKG Clube from getting behind. Zé Augusto Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mário Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Rodolfo Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. VSKG Clube's Rodolfo Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Augusto Berger in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Renatinho Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Augusto Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Godoi having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Simão Paulista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the match, VSKG Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Simão Paulista came free, but Rodolfo Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the San miguel players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
