The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Peruíbe FC's Luisão Vaz got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Severino Dantas hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anderson Faria in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles Damião prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Luisão Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luisão Vaz in the 42ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Charles Damião, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After having played for 43 minutes, Rubinho Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peruíbe FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubinho Simão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Raphael Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peruíbe FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Raphael Pimenta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charles Damião breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Márcio Viana charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Márcio Viana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Almecegas booed when Peruíbe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Márcio Viana didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luisão Vaz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Raphael Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anderson Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Charles Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thiago Leme charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thiago Leme the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Almecegas's Caco Alvarenga got a free kick in the 70th minute. 71 minutes into the game, Dida Sergipano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Peruíbe FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Almecegas the free kick. The audience was convinced that Luisão Vaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Charles Damião was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Charles Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisão Vaz in the 82nd minute of play. Luisão Vaz scored 1-0 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Charles Damião, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Peruíbe FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Hílton Sousa hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luisão Vaz in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Charles Damião saved Almecegas from getting behind. Charles Damião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anderson Faria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Peruíbe FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
